Olwyn James is a town planner with over 20 years-experience. She is the Senior Planning, Land and Utilities Manager in Uisce Éireann, where she has worked since 2015. She is currently responsible for overseeing and managing statutory consents processes to enable Uisce Éireann to deliver a multi-billion euro capital investment plan across Ireland. These projects are critical to ensuring safe drinking water and proper treatment of wastewater, enabling growth and environmental compliance. Most recently Olwyn has been heavily engaged in advocating to streamline and prioritise the delivery of critical infrastructure in complex consenting regimes, particularly via the new Planning and Development Bill. Prior to this Olwyn worked in South Dublin and Kildare County Councils with responsibility for delivering school sites and cycle network programmes.
